“Hospice has always had a deep personal connection to my family and I, with my late grandfather being one of the founding members “
“My career in Hospice began in 2020 where I started as a registered nurse within the Hospice at Home team. I then soon discovered that providing end of life care was what I was destined to do as a nurse.
Hospice has always had a deep personal connection to my family and I, with my late grandfather, Peter Vickers, being one of the founding members.
I am the only healthcare worker within my immediate family therefore being able to work within an organisation and provide such invaluable care that meant so much to him means so much to me.
In February 2021, I decided to transfer and develop additional skills and knowledge and work within Rebecca House where as a team we provide respite, palliative and end of life care for children with life-limiting or life threatening conditions from birth to 18 years.
I am very passionate about my role as a nurse within Hospice and couldn't see myself working anywhere else.”
